Pastoral message from the Rector

Here we are in the season of Lent, travelling with the Lord as he turns to face the cross, I find it hard to think of our church unable to offer worship, and our buildings closed.
But these are unprecedented times, and we travel this journey not just as a Benefice, nor indeed as a country, but globally alongside our fellow human beings.

Services are being broadcast on the BBC every Sunday morning both on TV and radio, which offers us a way of worshipping that will sustain and stay connected to other worshippers.

Thanks to the internet and mobile devices we have many ways to contact each other and stay in touch daily with those we are unable to visit.
My youngest daughter suggested we Facetime Easter lunch, so we can all share together the time that would have been spent around a table... four homes sharing through the magic of Facetime.

This virus has affected so many, and will continue to do so for some time yet, so we must pause and think of ourselves and our families in keeping safe and protected.
I've washed my hands so much, they resemble the hands of a 90year old! [apologies to all those 90 year olds reading this]

Wherever you find yourselves during this time of isolation, I pray for you and your families to remain safe and well, and offer the following prayer for you to pray together at home.

Keep us, good Lord, under the shadow of your mercy in this time of uncertainty and distress.sustain and support the anxious and fearful, and lift up all who are brought low; that we may rejoice in your comfort knowing that nothing can separate us from the love in Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen

Every blessing to you and those you love this day and forever more,
Julia
